Mesa Dwellers

Mesa County Genealogical Society has published the quarterly newsletter Mesa Dwellers since 1981. As of March 2020 our newsletter has been renamed Roots Pursuit. The newest newsletters can be accessed in the 'Members Only' area of our site.

Following are the newsletters from 1981-2014. Due to a variety of reasons (loss, file damage, etc.) not all issues for every year are included. If they become available in the future they will be added.

On 25 May 2018 the European Union (EU) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) went into effect. This protects all personal information of individuals. As a genealogy society our pages can be accessed by persons in the EU and we must follow the guidelines for public web sites. Because of this all personal member information has been redacted from our newsletters.

Member queries that include family information and contact information within queries has not been redacted.

***Note*** Because the original pdf's have been converted to a different pdf format, so that the redacted information will not been seen, on iPads some pages may need to be rotated. This is a glitch with the pdf/image converter. The font on some of the older newsletters may be difficult to read on the screen. Using your view controls to increase the size of the image may help. Also, because these newsletters now load as images based pdf's rather than pure pdf documents they do take longer to load. Please have patience.

Many good articles related to genealogical research are included in each of the issues as well as an ongoing history of the workings of the Mesa County Genealogical Society.

An index of Mesa Dwellers articles for 1990-1999 can be found here. Thank you to MCGS member Karen McGuirk for making the effort to index and provide comments for the articles in these newsletters.
